Great Plans

So Landon wanted to sleep outside on "grammers" tramp while he is here visiting. I told him I would sleep out there with him. So last night I decided to sleep out there by myself to make sure he could make it through the night. It was about 11:00 when I ventured out there with my sleeping bag, pillow, cell phone and shotgun, mind you I could throw my cell phone from the tramp and hit my parrents bedroom window, but I always sleep better if I have a wepon of some sort. Plus I had a dream the night before about a wolf attacking my chickens so I thought I might as well be able to get a couple shots off at any lurking predators. I got settled in my sleeping bag and made sure the gun was in a safe place so I didnt shoot myself in case I did any sleep jumping. It was quite lovely. The stars were very bright and the sky was pretty dark so you could see tonz of stars. I was thinking to myself about how nice it was and that I may sleep out side every night till the snow flys. Just then a cool little breeze picked up and the leaves were fluttering in the trees and I thought maybe one more blanket might be nice, but I decided that I could make it ok with out one. I driffed to sleep. Around 2:00AM I woke up freezing and tried to go back to sleep. It didnt work. Between the cold and the 1,500 hound dogs barking in Ashley I just couldnt take it anymore. I wiggled my way off the edge, still in my sleeping bag(I looked like a big green worm) and made my way into the house shot gun in hand. I ended up sleeping on the couch. It was a great night! Next time I think I will use more blankets. I dont think Landon will be sleeping out there tonight!
